Oden Gets Introduction to Seattle, Media

Kevin Pelton of SUPERSONICS.com writes, "After completing two days in Portland, where he worked out for the Blazers, (Greg) Oden arrived in Seattle Thursday night. He will not work out for the Sonics, but is spending time with the team’s front office so both player and team can get to know more about the other."

Bobcats’ Coaching List Includes Mike Fratello

In the CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, Rick Bonnell writes, "Mike Fratello, a veteran NBA coach nicknamed "Czar” for his television work, interviewed with the Bobcats this week. So did former New York Knicks interim coach Herb Williams and Dallas Mavericks assistant Sam Vincent. Those three push the Bobcats’ candidate list to eight."

Sweeping the crippled Washington Wizards is one thing. Pushing the tenacious Nets out the door is another issue. If the Cavaliers thought they would eliminate New Jersey on Wednesday just because they were undefeated in the playoffs at Quicken Loans Arena, they were as wrong as wrong can be.”

Report: Van Gundy to Leave Rockets

According to a report in the NEW YORK POST, and expanded upon by ESPN.COM, "Saturday’s Game 7 loss to the Jazz was the last for Jeff Van Gundy as the Houston Rockets’ coach … Citing an ‘impeccable source,’ The Post reported that Van Gundy is leaving NBA coaching for the forseeable future. According to the source, Van Gundy’s decision isn’t based on the first-round series loss to the Jazz."

Warriors deal Richardson to Bobcats (AP)

The Golden State Warriors traded veteran guard Jason Richardson to the Charlotte Bobcats on Thursday night for the rights to North Carolina forward Brandan Wright, the eighth overall pick. Charlotte also got the rights to Alabama forward Jermareo Davidson, Golden State’s choice with the 36th selection.
